Lama Chimed Rigdzin
Lama Chimed Rigdzin was born in the Nyarong Valley of Kham in northeastern Tibet and, starting at an early age, underwent traditional training in the Katok Lineage of Tibetan Buddhism. This training included the traditional five major subjects and a 3 year retreat under his uncle Khenpo Tsultrim Tashin including Dzogchen and Tsa Lung training with Khenpo Jigme P'huntsok and Dzogchen teachings from Khenpo Ngachung.
After receiving his Lama Hat at Katok, Lama Chimed did pilgrimages around Tibet and was able to receive T'hroma teachings from Dechen-La, the daughter of Dudjom Rinpoche, and participate in a 3 month retreat with her. At age 20 he crossed the mountains with a small group of other monks and Lamas and spent the next 10 years at Mindroling Monastery in India.
In 2002 Lama Chimed accompanied Chagdud Rinpoche from Nepal back to Khadro Ling to assist in teaching and artwork. A diligent practitioner, he spent six months in solitary retreat in Uruguay. Since Rinpoche's Parinirvana, he has especially helped train in students in ritual, in T'hröma chöd, and in Medicine Buddha. Presently he is carrying out a project to place Medicine Buddha prayer wheels in all the major countries of South America.
